State scholarship for SC students in post-matriculation courses. Covers tuition, maintenance, and other charges. Apply via Karnataka Scholarship Portal. Documents: caste certificate, income certificate, bank passbook, marks cards.

Merit / Economic Need

National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS)

Ministry of Education, Govt. of India Family income below ₹3.5 lakh; Class 8 student; min. 55% in Class 7 Class 8 (renewable up to Class 12)

₹12,000/year (₹1,000/month)

Central scheme to reduce drop-outs at Class VIII. Selected via state-level MAT + SAT test. Renewable annually on passing marks. Apply via NSP portal.

Minority (Muslim / Christian / Sikh / Buddhist / Jain)

Minority Pre-Matric Scholarship

Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India Minority community; family income below ₹1 lakh; Class 1–10 Primary / Pre-Matric (Class 1–10)

Day Scholar: ₹1,000–₹5,700/year; Hosteller: ₹3,500–₹7,000/year

Central scheme to prevent minority student drop-outs. Covers maintenance and tuition. Apply before deadline on NSP portal. Renewal required every year.

OBC / Category 2A / 2B / 3A / 3B

Vidyasiri Scholarship (OBC)

Karnataka Backward Classes Welfare Dept. OBC category; family income below ₹3.5 lakh; enrolled in Karnataka institution Degree / Diploma / PG / ITI

₹8,000 – ₹15,000/year

State scholarship for OBC students in technical and non-technical courses. Valid for government and aided institutions. Documents: category certificate, income certificate, Aadhaar, admission letter.
